Marathon prep: Issues with my hip

As I said in my previous blog post, this one will be all about my third month of marathon training. If you don’t know, I’m training for my first ever marathon, which will be held in October in Ljubljana. What you didn’t know is that I changed my race day from 16th to 29th of October. Initially, my plan was to run it on 16th October, by myself, without competitors. Just me, myself and 42,2 k. But, since the Ljubljana marathon is held on 29th of October and it’s an organized race, with water breaks, competitors and supportive fans, I’ve decided that I’ll be running at that race. They are less than 2 weeks apart and I’ll definitely be ready, so this little change doesn’t majorly change anything.

What’s been going on?

I’m finally back, after a really long time. I haven’t been posting lately (for about 3 weeks), because I was too busy with studying for my exams. My intention was to post once a week, but I just didn’t have time. It was a difficult decision to ‘give up’ on writing during my finals, but I knew that posts wouldn’t be as good as I wanted them to be and I just focused on studying as hard as possible. My goal is to give you the best of me and I know that now, when I’m finally back, my content will be just the way I want it to be. Enjoy reading it!

Marathon prep: Month of records

Marathon training is something that not everybody is able to do, because it requires a lot of determination, dedication, courage and persistance. But I decided for it and even though it seems impossible, I know it is possible and I will make it. 8 weeks of my prep are done and I can not be more excited for next weeks of running. It’s crazy how much I’ve actually progressed and even though 15k before seemed like a running hell, today it’s a distance that I could’ve run every day. So, what happened in last 4 weeks of my prep?

Changes – yes or no?

“Change is hard at first, messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end.” We all fear change. Change is something unknown, something that puts us out of our comfort zone and even though it is difficult and scary at first, it turns out to be the best decision that you could’ve made. At least for me. But I wasn’t always as opened to changes as I am now. Why?

Week, full of surprises

May is my favourite month of the year, not because it’s my birthday on 24th, but because the weather gets nicer and everything around us slowly wakes up. But this week, in particular, was one of my favourite weeks this year. There are two reasons why. First one is my birthday and people who made it unforgettable and the second one is my running progress. And I’ll talk about both of them in todays post. Hope you enjoy it!

It’s my everything

Yesterday, when I was scrolling through Youtube for music, I came across one video that literally made my evening, even though it was 1 am. It was a music video of Backstreet boys, singing at their concert about 2 months ago. Yes, they are back and they are even filming a new album. If you know me, you know that I was crazy about them more than 10 years ago. I probably know all of their songs by heart and my heart was literally melting when I heard those songs. It’s not about having a crush on them, but their music was and still is really good. And while being nostalgic as hell yesterday, I also started thinking what music do I even listen to. And that’s something I want to share with you today.

Marathon prep: First month struggles

As you probably realized, I didn’t publish a new post on Wednesday and I won’t be publishing on Wednesdays for about 2 months. I’ve decided that I’m going to publish new post on every Saturday from now on, because I have to focus more on my studying and even though I’m sad that I have to minimize my writing here on my blog, I have to do it in order to finish my school year successfully. I’ve been thinking a lot about it and I think that publishing once a week is still the best idea. I will try to do my best and write the best possible posts on Saturdays and I hope those posts will be even better. That was my news for today, so let’s hop into todays post.

Prioritize and focus

It’s been a week since I’ve written my last blog post, but it feels like an eternity! I guess, writing truly became a part of my life and if I don’t write a blog, one part of my brain says that something is missing. I actually wrote a blog post, but as a guest blogger on another blog. Fliss gave me an amazing opportunity to share my story with her readers and I’m beyond happy and grateful for it. So, I actually wrote a post, but I didn’t post it here.

There are no perfect conditions

“If you wait for perfect conditions, you’ll never get anything done.” This quote is one of those that are stuck in my head, whenever I want to find an excuse why not to do something. A lot of times happens that people don’t do something, because they want everything to be perfect, when in reality they are either too scared to do it or they don’t want it badly enough. It’s all part of a perspective and how you actually see it. In this post, I will mainly focus on running and workout, but this can be applied to every part of your life. Hope you enjoy it!

You’ll be stuck with yourself forever

“I love my life. I am powerful, I am beautiful, I am free. I love my life. I am wonderful, I am magical, I am me. I love my life.” I guess you all know from which song is this verse. It’s from Robbie Williams’s song Love my life and when I first heard it, I had to sit down, because it was so good. It talks about something we all lack and that’s definitely self-love and self-acceptance. And I don’t mean just loving yourself, but also loving your job, your relationships, your current situation – basically, loving your life. It’s hard sometimes and I’ve been there, but if you put a little bit of your time to self-improvement, you’ll get to your ‘happy place’.
